TONIC ENGINE
Tonic Engine is an experimental recording project, started in Waterville, Maine in May of 2015 by Tom Crisp. Originally conceived as a neo-Irish folk outfit, Tonic Engine would produce its first single, Loos, during the Autumn of 2016, recording at Ashlawn Farm, home to such similarly persuaded endeavors as The Brazen Youth and Will Orchard (formerly Littleboybigheadonbike). The project boasts contributions from Aaron Canter, who curates the project's brass component, and the band's bassist, Andrew Fumarola.
After a lengthy hibernation, during which Seth Bontrager (keys), Ted Reiner (guitar), Scott Jackson (drums), and Carter Feiss (percussion) joined the ensemble, Tonic Engine released it's second single, Tuberfam, on New Years Day, 2019. The single explores a mythical encounter between its authors during an excursion in the Maine winter.
